Announcing Liquid Support For BTCPay Server

Samson Mow

We’re excited to announce that BTCPay Server has integrated the Liquid Network into its software suite. Now, merchants using BTCPay can easily allow their customers to leverage the Liquid Network for payments. This means confidential and fast settlement in Liquid Bitcoin (L-BTC) and other assets issued on Liquid such as stablecoins like Liquid Tether (USDt).

With BTCPay Server, merchants can self-host and have complete control over the funds they receive without paying extra fees to middlemen or payment processors. BTCPay Server is one of the most popular options for merchants looking to accept Bitcoin payments, with tens of thousands of stores supporting it.

Customers can benefit from Liquid as well. Confidential Transactions allow customers to transact without worrying merchants or other 3rd parties will see their holdings. Fast two-minute settlement times means customers’ orders are finalized quickly. BTCPay Server’s integration of Liquid also means customers have the option to spend tokenized fiat like USDt instead of precious L-BTC.

We’re also excited to announce that we’ve updated our BTCPay Server instance on the Blockstream Store and can now accept both L-BTC and USDt for payments, in addition to Bitcoin and Lightning. To get some Liquid Bitcoin or Tether, visit Bitfinex, BTSE, Sideshift, or The Rock Trading, and then store it in a Blockstream Green wallet for spending.
